A post.

So I read this on tumblr and I really liked it so I thought I’d share it with you:

Who are you really?

You are not a name

or a height, or a weight

or a gender

you are not an age

and you are not where you’re from

you are your favourite books

and the songs stuck in your head

you are your thoughts

and what you eat for breakfast

on Saturday mornings

you are a thousand things

but everyone chooses

to see the million you are not

you are not where you’re from

you are where you’re going

and I’d like to go there too.

                               -m.k

I just really love that and the person who wrote it.

Actually, you are all of these things because they contribute to the entirety of an individual. Some of these things can be changed but they’re all “who you are” whether people like to accept that or not.

  2. That is true.

I think what the poem is trying to convey is that you can tell a lot more about a person from their favourite books or the songs stuck in their heads than you can from their name or age and stuff. There’s more than meets the eye.
